Each of the members of the co-op started producing wine out of passion, none of the 5 members that make up the cooperative and produce the wine “inherited” a family estate.
The grapes are harvested in 5 different vineyards, but all in a area within a few kilometers of each other. The vineyards are all located at an altitudes between 200 to 350 m, on mainly clayey / calcareous soils.
The vineyards differ in exposure and due to the hand of the farmer, but they stare a similar philosophy: farming has to be sustainable and organic.
They love this corner of the Monferrato very much, ignoring who was born here, and who is “adopted”. Instead they are trying to bring out the best in terms of cooperation, friendship and work in the vineyards and cellars.
All the partners cultivate their grapes organically, but also try to reduce copper usage to a minimum. Some use green manure to enrich the soil, while others breed earthworms to create natural Humus.
The partners have all rejected organic certification in the cellar because they do not believe it reflects their ideas. They use only indigenous yeasts, do not filter nor clarify, they do not acidify or de-acidify. They add sulphites only if the vintage requires it and only then a minimum quantity that does not exceed 30 mg / l.
