The “Clos du Colombier” is a clos –a vineyard enclosed by walls – measuring 1.92 acres (.78 hectares), situated in the Burgundian appellation of Pommard.
The Clos is nestled in the middle of the two slopes of Pommard, directly in the center of the village. It is bordered on the East by the “Clos Beauder”, and on the West by the Premier Cru “Clos de Verger.”
Throughout history, Clos du Colombier has belonged to different families in Pommard, including the Boillots and the Pothiers. The grapes from the Clos have historically been sold to negociants, so Thiébault is now the first to bottle a wine from the Clos, which as of 2011 is a “Monopole” of Domaine Huber-Verdereau (Monopole being the Burgundian designation for a vineyard owned in its entirety by only one owner).
