His parents were farm workers. His father passed away when he was still a young man at school. After this sad event he went back finishing his studies as a horse back rider and care taker. Although this was a long time dream to establish himself in the horse profession. It did not take long to realize the real difficulty of making a living in that world and change professional orientation.
He decided to join the Army, and three years painfully helped him to make the transition to go back to working the land with his uncle. His uncle owned a tiny vineyard and a few cows producing milk. After two years working with his uncle he rented his own vineyard and became a self taught winemaker officially in 1994.
